Planning on making up some test batches tomorrow, just wondering what others like to write down, and maybe how you keep track of things. I've kept records on other subjects and it always seems like when I try to analyze the data there is something I wish I had recorded but didn't know I needed to until it was too late. Thanks, looking forward to hearing the responses.

I like to keep track of date, wind speed, expected night time temperature, relative humidity, conditions - rain, snow, dry, drought, etc, atmospheric pressure, front coming in, or stable, and anything that I think may have a bearing on the test conditions.

Thank you Paul, fantastic information. What I meant to ask about, is tomorrow I'm planning on putting together some lure bases I've been thinking about trying in front of trail cameras this year. Things I planned on writing in my notebook for each batch were:
1. Amount of ingredient 1
2. Amount of ingredient 2
3. Storage condition for tainting (in sun, in cabinet, buried, etc)
4. Average daytime and nightime temperatures.
5. Ventilation method for gasses and fly control
6. Number of days before preservation
7. Type and amount of SB and MP.
8. Dates of all the steps (starting, preserved, etc)

Basically I'm wondering what information folks find important to be able to reproduce a bait or lure consistently down the road if it performs well in testing and I want to make a larger batch for use on the line in the years to come?

JMO,IMHO...I find it important to have the ingredients used to "formulate" your animal bustah jojo on hand and keep with the same distributor. Some pretty good commercial distributors out there and some will discount you if you buy in bulk.

All that info you are asking about is all preference, there is no stand alone process besides venting your jars/buckets to release gases and even that gets creative. Notebook, time in the field and accurate entries should suffice. Don't forget you are testing materials on unpredictable animals too.

Smile, you're an expert!
