I run Stafix 3x and 1x, the 1x is set up with a trickle charger on a solar panel hooked up to a 12 Volt marine battery and is outside sitting along the fence line. The 1x has been on the same battery since 2014. I run 14ga wire around the farm pastures, and use poly wire for dividing up pastures for intensive grazing. Had Parmarks with solar chargers but switched over to Stafix about 2000. Thing I like about the Stafix is they can be run off house current or a battery and they haven't given me the problems i had with the Parmarks. I've had the 3x now for 19 years and it only went down once, in 2014 when the mother board gave up. Had it back in a week and been on ever since.

Gallagher and Patriots, 12v Patriots are the last three I bought. Wish I had bought 12v right from the start. I had a patriot non solar and had good luck with it for maybe ten years, so expect similar luck with their solar's. I am running four 6v and two 12v on four fences over a thousand foot and several short pieces. Going to switch out one of the sixes for the extra 12 I just bought. Love the 12's, lots of voltage. Also bought several of those fence indicator lights, they hang on the fence and don't blink unless voltage gets low I set mine for 2500v. I think they are Patriots also, lights blinking I check fence, otherwise keep on trucking. Wire I like the regular 14ga, soft and forgiving. Have used 17 in regular and high tensile, hate both but hate high tensile more. High tensile won't break, if an animal gets tangled up in it you got problems sometimes real bad problems. Junked all the 17 I had for that reason.

Get a fencer with a remote. Them things are awesome- you just clip on the fence and shut your fencer off. Our family has 2 fencers like that and they rock. We use the kind of fencer you plug in an outlet.
