I’m not big into horse races but what a decision to not award the fastest horse with the win!

Are penalties like that common in lesser known races?

Yes they are.

Think that this one was wrong based on the fact that they complaining jockey was not effected. He used the rules to win after he got beat. The horses that got impeded didn't cry foul and let the race be the race.

Neighbor trains and races, said it is not uncommon for there to be litigation after a race. Lot of things behind the scene of horse racing that spectators are not aware of.

Maximum Security clearly won the race and was in front the entire distance. I don't think the horse drifting was a deliberate act. The horse that was declared the winner was way under rated and put in one heck of a race, but I think Maximum Security was the real winner. Just my opinion.

If it was only a two horse race and the leader blocked the 2nd place horse I could see the penalty but that wasn’t the case here. I’m sure to those that follow horse racing likely see it differently.

What will be interesting is to see how the DQ'd horse does in the next two races. If he does well then what happened yesterday would loom as a very political decision and in the world we live in that is where it is at.

It's the first time In the history of the race that the winner was disqualified. Looked a little lame to me.

I think the amount of booing by the spectators says it all. When the leader for the entire race loses, something seems fishy. (stinks)

Horse # 2 was probably a Democrat. Now it's #1. #1 will now probably pay for #2's vet bills.

65-1, the complaining jockey will probably commit suicide within 6 months.

Can someone build a meme of Rosie jockeyin' a race horse?

I read it was the Stewards decision, as soon as it happened, but had to be reviewed,, hence the wait.

In any other type of racing it is acceptable, even expected, for the leader to throw a block.

whoever "fixed" that race made a chunk of change

Same here....too many cameras these days. Nothing is perfect including racing of any sort. Look for this to happen with increasing frequency as more and more cameras and cash get involved.
