There I was! Shot this fellow not far from the house this a.m. It was a good hunt, lots of gobbling and birds in 4 directions of me. 24 lbs, 10 1/2" beard, 1 " spurs.

Big bird, does each track on the stock of your gun represent a kill

Golf ball & bulldozerjoe..... yes, the tracks signify a kill with that gun. Also, those other columns are for birds killed with it by my All Purpose Boy(3) and his late Grandad (1). The deal closest to the trigger is a cheesy Bobcat track. The two hash marks under it are for a couple 'cats I called up and peeled with that gun. They are a bit harder to come by in these parts!

How do you add the tracks?
Trapping is easy you say? You try getting your target animal to step in a 3 inch area of its whole territory.

BullOx, I use a Foredom tool....like an industrial Dremel Tool.....and just use a small bit. I then stain the track black. Thanks for all the comments and congrats folks. Now I have to wait a year to spring hunt again!

Nice bird. I like seeing guns that get used. nothing against a shiney show piece I just like guns with a little character better.

Beautiful! I have had the worst year that I can remember husting turkeys. I may try it later today again.
