I’m looking at this gun to keep in the truck for shooting coyotes on the run, not trapped, while out on the line. Does anyone have any experience with it? How does it do out to 200-250yards? https://diamondbackfirearms.com/portfolio/db15ccbb/

You can get an AR that will do what you want for about half the price of that Diamondback. What makes you think you want a Diamondback over any other brand? 200-250 is not a stretch for an AR.

I'm thinking about getting one too, seems like everyone I talk to has a different opinion about them though
Trapping is easy you say? You try getting your target animal to step in a 3 inch area of its whole territory.

Have the Diamond Backs went up in price or do you have a source for ARs under 2 bills? It has been a few years, but I picked one up for each kid, wife, and myself a few years back and think the highest one was just under $400 on gun broker. I admittedly have not looked lately as gun broker tends to cost me money. The link he listed shows $709. I think you can beat that pretty easy. I have never looked at a Diamond back other than the link he posted. Vatrapping87 Buy a built upper and built lower and it is two pins to put it together.

Andrew, when MJM said 200-250 isn't a stretch for an AR, I believe he was talking about accurate range, not price.
I personally wouldn't spend $700 on a truck gun, but that's up to each individual to make that decision. I just bought a rifle kit for $400 shipped to my front door from Palmetto State Armory. This will be my first AR, and I've heard plenty of good things from others about PSA I felt comfortable buying from them.
Like MJM said, you can get complete uppers and lowers separate and they pop together easy peasy. A build kit with an assembled upper is a fairly straightforward project that shouldn't take more than an hour at most with a few basic tools.
Unless your heart is set on the Diamondback, I would keep looking. There are some features there that make it a mid-level gun that you might not need, and you can spend the money you save on better optics or more ammo.

Tlguy, do you have a link to where I can order one of those kits?

Tlguy, I realized the 200-250 wasn't price. I was taking half of what the last 5 DB-15s I bought cost as he said spend half the price of a DB. I should have looked at the link provided before opening my mouth. I was going off of the price I payed, which is a little over half the price of the one the op was looking at. I should not type before looking at the entire info provided, my mistake. To the op. A basic carbine model flat top DB can be had much cheaper than the one you are looking at. The ones I have fired hold under a 1 inch group at 100, making 200-250yrd shots very doable. I would shop around a bit before jumping in. And that is what I was saying. As I said above I have never looked at a DB until I opened the link he provided. Maybe the OP has somewhere he can get one for less than what the link he provided shows. But there is no way I would pay $709 for one. I would guess most AR-s with do what he was wanting.

I can buy a DB15 at my local gun store for $586 plus tax. You would be able to beat that price on Gun Broker, even with buy it now. They are listing on there for under $500 Buy it now. I would guess if you watch the auction on there you could get one for around $400
