People just don't value it, if they don't pay for it. This thread is a good example. Or did I miss the OP saying thank you to Pass-thru?

Jim

Maybe they recognized it as bad advice. grin

Don't feel singled out James. People on sites like this ask for advice on all sorts of topics and rarely is there a thank you or acknowledgment. Just a sign of the times.

^ I agree. Yes, I see this same thing everyday here and very seldom do you see a thank you or 10 people giving the same advise for the same question. Lol

James, I wouldn't give any legal advise here, for that very reason and showing no respect.

OP says "We went from the road across the land I got charged with then onto state land that over looked a river bottom and glassed with binos, the state land is no hunting also, when on state land I took out my folding chair and roll up blind out of my back pack and laid them down to get binoculars out we then glassed a few places overlooking the bottom and forgot my blind and chair when we left. The sheriff followed the tracks in the snow and found my stuff and he took those"
I am trying to figure out why would you carry a blind and binos from the road, to try to retrieve deer with snow on the ground? I think tracking it would have been a much better option.

After talking to the judge I filled out the Claim for Return of Seized Property form and took it to the Clerk of Court who is the Sheriff's wife. Now it will go back to the judge at a hearing and the sheriff's department will or will not be there the judge said, then the judge will decide if it gets returned or not. Now wait and see what happens. Thanks everyone for the advice that was given.

What a tangled mess. My guess is you have your stuff back in short order.

MJM-We were hunting across the gravel road from where the private property is which is also owned by my cousin. My backpack also has headlamps, knife, rubber gloves, etc in it also. We did follow the tracks from the road because we watched the deer run across the intersection of said gravel road where he crossed. Wasn't a lot of snow on the ground just spotty places that the sun hadn't melted off. This happened shortly before dark.
