Where to get the round step down pit pans for #3 Victor longs? Any supply company carry them or do you have to order directly from Ed?

Is this what he does for a living ? Should I call during business hours or would I be better off calling nights or weekends?

Depends on what you are using them for. With coyotes they are fine with a pan cover. If you are running them for cats with exposed sets you will have some problems with packrats and other rodents running over the pans and causing debris to get under the pan. Wind can also be a factor. You will be better off to run stock pans with a miles trigger; It has a lot more room for the pan to fall and trip.

I can't believe that cop put me in the back seat when I clearly called shotgun.

Ed is one of the best to deal with, He will set you up right on the pans, dogs, and anything else you need.

In my talks with Ed, the average conversation is about 45 mins. But it is never boring. He has been a part of so many conservation projects and testing that he has first hand experience with everything out there. He works hand in hand with all the big trap guys. Anytime his number pops up on my phone, I grab a chair. Love the guy and he is great for the sport. He told me a few days ago he will be turning 80. I can only hope to be that active at 80.

Bgfur I hope you don’t mind a question here . I’ve been playing with a pan tension system for my #3 and #4 Vic’s by welding a piece of brake tubing up under the hump . I then cut a grove or slot for the pan to go back into and then put a small bolt with lock nut and a few other details . Now in order to put tension on the pan you have to bend the sides of the hump together a little. This method works and you only need to purchase the brake tubing , but I wouldn’t call it easily adjustable. I would rather put a pan on that fits to each side of the tubing and then have pan tension that is easily adjustable. My question is for you guys that may have done something like this before. If given the choice would you use Ed’s pit pan system were you have to bend the dog to adjust the tension or what I was talking of doing were you adjust tension with a pan bolt ?
