The MB take a lot of work. First remove the stock dog and replace it. Horrible design. Way too strong. You also need a longer one so the pan sticks up a little from level. Second you need to rub some grease on them. They come way to clean. I like to replace the chain with lap link chain and remove all swivels. Also replace the springs. Way to strong. I also cut Bent up portion of the jaw ends. You want to make sure the jaws will pop if something pulls to hard. After that you got an awesome working trap.
If traps work like the Antis say......I would have no fingers.

I attach a 6 foot chain and a drag to them, add a Mike Kelly pan and away we go!!! I’m only using Mikes trap pans next season. Doesn’t he guarantee 25+ cats using his pans?

Clean, dip fmj , set. Love the nightlatch. Perfect for a mature like me. Chain stakes for me.
She should stay home and do more cooking like Babe Winkelmans wife did, and let her husband have some peace and quiet.

I cut the chain in half, flip the end with the crunch-proof around and re-attach. Then I usually add a double stake swivel. If I'm attaching to a drag I'll just j-hook onto the drag. I love the 550! Best outta the box value for a #2 size trap, IMO.

Everyone of my 550’s run his pans. I do adjust the pan tension, some of them come preset pretty heavy. Other then that these traps are pretty much ready to set.
