Another vote for Lee Steinmeyer! I use his parallel knife, I also have a Post, but like Lee's knife much more!

I've been playing around fleshing beaver over my knee with a beaver peeler. This might be a Russel, not sure as there are no markings on it. It might go back to the 1860s, I don't know, but it's neat to use early tools.

wiebe elite. have had no complaints at all. I bet the steinmeyer knives are great though, i have his death ray and its very well built.

Another vote for Lee. Great guy, great products! I have the parallel knife. I HAD a Wiebe Elite, it's a decent knife, I got rid of it after my first raccoon with the Steinmeyer. Lee's knife is 10× better than the Wiebe.


When life gets me down..... you know hunting/trapping season is closed.

For me it was a toss up between the Post and a Steinmeyer last year. I ended up going with the Post, mainly because I liked the shape of the handles better. I don't think a person could go wrong with either one. my 2cents

Any tips on sharpening Lee's or the "English" style knives? I've always just put a steel to mine but I havent been please with the results. Thanks.
