Does the name Ken Bunch ring a bell to you. I think that's who it was.

Nope not familiar with him.

I'm with Dirt concerning the Kenai Peninsula. Way too many people !!

I hunted in 17, and you had to leave the bone in the quarters. Supposed to be fully guided but the packer hurt his back, so we did it. We camped on Marys Mtn. and hunted down and you could really see, but the moose had to come back up. Was so steep you just turned around and leaned back to rest. Hardest hunt I've ever been on, but the best hunt I've ever been on. I was 45 then so wasn't a kid but I can remember it like it was yesterday.

Ok, I’ve been busy. Sorry I didn’t give much info. A friend of mine lives up there who will be getting me and my hunting partner to where We need to go. We will fly in to area DM338, if that means anything to you. Right now I know nothing about the area or what I’m getting into.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

OK that appears to be for anywhere in unit 13. 50 inches or 4 brow tines on at least one side. Sept 1-20

I seem to be the only one championing the Kenai and Unit 13. I like both.

Unit 13 and the Kenai treated me very well. I could probably look through my pics and scan and upload some more of those areas.

Only 7872 moose hunters in Unit 13 in 2016. I won't even go into the number of caribou hunters.

So your saying I’ll probably run into other hunters? What are my chances of getting one.

Shouldn't be a problem. Just be sure they are clear of the vehicle

Not what I wanted to hear.
No, seriously. What are the chances of even seeing a legal moose.

laugh I can't honestly tell you much about that GMU. It's big and there are a lot of paces to land a small plane. That is what I would do in that area

I didn't know what the numbers were but the guys that I knew that went had not seen a legal bull in a few attempts. I have know idea where they hunted either. I did know that moose aren't as plentiful as they were at one time.

So what’s the min size cal gun you would bring? And what’s the average distance for a shot.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

In that country your shots could be anywhere from 20 yards to 400. Personally, I won't take a shot at a moose over 250. Pretty much any 30 caliber will do the job if you do yours
