Looking for some help on a goulds wild turkey in southern arizona any help would be appreciated

Can't help on turkey, only desert quail. I can say be very careful about unwanted trespassers in our country and carry a sidearm. Buddy of mine actually got in a shootout with some less desireables down there and he and 2 other buddies of his only had their bird hunting shotguns.

I trap about 30 miles north of the Mexican border in New Mexico. Like mentioned above, carry a side arm. Most people crossing are harmless, but some aren't

The only other recourse is to hire a guide in Mexico and I don't really want to go that route

I stomp around Southern AZ all of the time with no gun.

And you should have seen the turkeys by Luna NM.

I wonder what would happen if you did shot an illegal? really might be quite a deal internationally and wonder if the penalty would be the same I guess so once they hit our dirt they are protected.

I've only bow hunted javelinas in Southern AZ. If you need a Gould's to complete a Grand Slam... most of the guides I ran into in Rio Rico, Tubac and anything pretty much south of Tucson, hunt a lot of public land, I believe you could do it on your own if you find large pine stands in a higher altitude.
