Its that time of the year again! The Nebraska Unicam has started their 90 day session. I will try to keep a list of the bills in this thread. Bills can be submitted on the first 10 days of the session. Currently it is Day 7 and we've already had several.

But, lets look back to Nov. The election was NOT good for Pro-gunners. We lost some good people. We now have a Judiciary Committee, which hears all gun bills, filled with lots of Senators with no appreciation with the 2A. What's that mean? There will be pretty much zero pro-gun bills coming out, unless they are a Priority Bill by a Senator. This also means that LB58, The Red Flag Bill will be released and will be talked about. I believe this is not a good bill.

Also, please consider joining the Nebraska Firearms Owners Association (NFOA) as we will testify on every gun bill. nebraskafirearms.org

I know the Nebraska Sportsmen Foundation also has a list of bills they are watching. I will try to add those if I can.

Robert, That red flag bill (LB 58) is 23 pages long....I think 23 is right. A lot of legal language. The guy who introduced it is very liberal I am told. I plan on watching when it comes to committee hearing. This is not a good bill. It starts down the path of gun confiscation. The unicameral this year seems to have took a step or two away from the right. Thanks for posting. Keep us informed!

pretty much every Pro-2A group is against that bill. The NRA, NFOA and maybe others will testify against the bill. Sen Morfeld is very liberal. there will be a ton of testifiers for this bill. i urge everyone to contact the Judiciary committee and your Senator and tell them NO! to the Red Flag Bill. If anyone needs ideas to counter the RFB, let me know.

In case you haven't heard Thurs, Feb 28 is going to be a HUGE day! It is the day that the Judiciary Committee will hear 6 gun bills. The NFOA will be there testifying on all bills. I assume the NRA will be there too. It will be interesting how they testify on some bills.

If you are able, please come and show your support for the 2A community! You don't have to testify, but just showing up in great numbers will send a message. Also, sending an email on each bill will also be a way to fight.

If you need help sending an email, please let me know! I will help how I can. When sending an email to the Judiciary Committee, please include name, address and a well written/thought out email. It doesn't need to be long.

Nebraska Unicameral is back in session as of yesterday!
