People who think up these laws place the value of animals above that of human lives.
Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

I can only find references to actions in 2017 with S.654 — 115th Congress (2017-2018) Correct - senate bill 654 Again, I cannot find any action on this dated in January of 2019, as the CBS "News" article states. I tried some searches on congress.gov but no luck. Does anyone have another link that shows any current action in 2019?

I crushed a mouse in the fur shed the other day as it scampered by my foot. Guess I could get 7 years in prison for that. This bill is dripping with the anti, liberal agenda. I will be contacting my state reps tonight about this.

Thanks Patrice. That's a bit better but it's still the camel's nose !!!
I wish Pass-thru, James, Blaine would weigh in on where these guys think they have the authority to do this White, Congress invokes its powers under the Commerce Clause when passing animal cruelty laws. I have not read this law thoroughly. IMO generic animal cruelty laws should be the purview of the states. If congress passes laws that directly impacts interstate congress....like laws affecting animals being sold in interstate commerce, that would seem within the scope of their authority. But Congress can seem to stretch the interstate commerce clause to fit agendas at times.

Doesn't slaughterhouses put cows down with an air powered spike? Surely that would be considered impaling. While this attempt is pretty scary, it seems too broad of an area to push all at once. (I hope) That is another thing that occurred to me. This could be a vehicle for the vegan whack jobs to prohibit eating meat Happy 2019 white17 and Barb! thanks for the info and God have mercy if one of those vegans get between me and ribeye!
