So cold I saw a fire hydrant chasing a dog

High 30's this morning and clear sky. Will be T shirt weather this afternoon if you're working outside.
The Pacific Northwest and SE Alaska have had a record breaking warm winter. I heard that Seattle has had the warmest January in recorded history.

It's cold in MN. -26 this morning with 20-30 MPH winds. Thursday morning is forecast to be -38 and winds 20-25 putting wind chill values around -75. At least it is keeping the mosquitos down.

In the mid -30's to -40's the next couple nights with wind chill down to -60. I should be alright if I listen to the nice lady on the weather report telling me how to dress.
The outdoor boiler sure is hungry.

And on the other hand it's -30 something in the north. After -20, who counts anymore. I guess we're globally warming challenged here.

Please share her advice. My beer is in the garage 100 feet from the house and I want to dress the kid correctly when I send him to get it.

For those into c scale the wind chill is -50c and -32C tonight the scales are going to meet at -40 c/f

It's so cold, I might not go for my morning run. 30 below is a bit cold for that, although I usually just run my pick up truck.

I fed the stove some good stuff this morning until it turned red on top. When I spit on the red spot.....it still froze !

It is going to get really noisy here this weekend when the roar of the 40 mph winds thaw out!!

This weather is nuts wind chills to minus 40 the next couple of days then above freezing by Monday. 70 degree swing in less than a week??????????

0 right here now - 20 tonight, high of -8 tomorrow and -25 to -30 tomorrow night

Projected 45-50 below wind chills for early AM on Wednesday with actual temps about 17-20 below which will be the coldest in this area for a couple decades. Schools here typically close when wind chills are below -35 and some of that depends upon when they are that low or lower and for how long. Most schools have already announced so families can make the needed plans.

Minus 35 with a wind chill of minus 43 here this morning. No mosquitoes though lol!

ya its been cold,snowin and blowin for some time. keepin me busy shoveling and feedin the stove and ya that gal on the weather tellin us how to dress is sayin its gonna be in the 30s early next week! hope it doesn't rain sure don't need the ice. take care and be safe and keep your fire goin.
