I set my Jakes with my feet. Wire springs hurt my hands like heck. Maybe I’m just a wimp. Nothing wrong with it, but I don’t use my work boots from the farm with oil, manure, feed, etc...

Get some one had setters and you can set traps when your on your knees at the set without missing a beat. Love mine a real time saver as setting a MJ with your feet are not easy when waxed and wet.

Any reason not to set with your feet? Hard to set with your feet when waist deep in water. I set my CDR's and TS 8.5 by hand in those situations(no setters) and pretty much all my water traps. Set all land traps with feet.

Way less movement with the setter drop your gear make the set and get to your feet and done adjusting and checking springs is also a lot easier, put on a bunch of clothes when it sub zero and bend over to set the pan and a guy gets dizzy! LOL

Years ago wasn't the conventional wisdom that setting with feet was somehow bad on the trap? If you have a trap that is center swiveled via a j-hook through the frame, you can bend the frame so much that the trap becomes impossible to set.
