Where is a good place to look? Want to trap some rats under ice. I'd like to use the Hagz clips and they require 3/8 smooth rod. The garden stakes I found were not smooth. I found some nice stakes used for snow plowing, but they were 5/16. Would those still work with these clips? I've been looking at our local Home Depot and Menards.

Anyone that sells fencing supplies should have them, especially the non box store will have better selection.

Can always use steel smooth rod but it is heavier and you'll get your butt kicked on price if you don't buy it in 20foot sticks.

there must be a steel supplier around where business's, fabrication or welding shops get there supplies here in Mi. I get mine from Alro Steel last fall 3/8x 12 ft. was 8 bucks

I doubt he wants steel. Fiberglass is much easier to carry.

I got white 4 footers from tractor supply but Amazon has bundles of 6ft 50 count Green gardenstakes fiberglass 3/8 for 99$

valley vet supply has fiberglass fence posts in bundles of 12.... they work good with those clips, and no rust to deal with
