Lots of people still drive cars, just not American made cars. Because compared to Japanese and Korean made cars, American made cars suck. That's why Ford and Chevy are cutting way back on car production.

American auto makers blame the times are a changing. Mostly, that's BS. It's that they aren't keeping up with the times and adapting to them. They make inferior designs and poor engineered vehicles. Plan and simple. If they wanted to be in the top of the market, they would see the light. The market is there imo, they fail to meet it. And that's hard to say!

I have to disagree, most new vehicles sold are suv’s and trucks. That’s what the majority of people want, period.
Anyone that owns a gun and votes democrat deserves to have there gun taken, cause they truly are too stupid to own a gun.

But, the reason imo that it is swinging in that direction is because American auto makers have dropped the ball. I mean come on, everyone knows that the woody country squire wagon doesn't fit now, with the 10ft CB antenna on the bumper. But a classy well built sedan is still sexy, they just failed to build it! Build it and they will come lol.

I am a mechanic so I talk with tons of people. And they all want suv’s. Regardless of brand. They all say they don’t want a car. Of any brand. A few years back everybody wanted minivans. Minivans were all the rage. That has just evolved into suvs. And look at the trucks, there all 4 door short beds. That’s what people want. Start asking people and you’ll find out. Look at all the new vehicles on the road, all suv’s Including Toyota’s and Honda’s etc. cars are for old people, so I’m told.

I do a lot of driving everyday as part of my job. I see plenty of cars on the road, mostly Japanese and Korean cars. Old folks drive American made midsize sedans. Younger people, especially girls in their 20's and 30's drive smaller, sportier cars, Hondas and Mazdas are very popular with younger women.
Trucks and SUV's have certainly grabbed a big market share in the last decade or so but there is still a thriving car market, just not for American made cars.
Eh...wot?

Honda civic-great car.For a long time too. We had a 96 that got forty-plus mpg and had over half a million miles on it when we retired a few years ago. We had handed it down to my daughter. Bought my wife a new six-speed (manual shift) turbo-charged Civic earlier this year, she loves it!

Just wait until oil prices go up, dealerships won’t be able to give away the big suvs. At least that’s what I’ve seen around my part of the world. You’re right . They’ll be bought up down here by oil patch wives who are rolling in dough their man is raking in . Two years later you’ll be able to buy them cheap when oil prices fall again . Along with all kinds of toys and homes.
Honor a Soldier. Be the kind of American worth fighting for.

And most want awd or 4wd. I was reading on another forum where a guy was mad because his 4WD didn't get him UN-STUCK. Yep, wait until you're buried, then engage 4WD...that's how you do it. I don't see how a person can pay $75-80,000 for a new vehicle. Big pickups, Suburbans etc. Some folks just have too much money. Heck, some pickups with over 100,000 miles are still priced over $30,000. I will be walking before I pay that.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.
