If the republican party were wise, we'd have trump exit the whitehouse "voluntarily" a nominate a better man in 2020. The democrats are counting on the best chance being the fact that their candidate isn't trump. Such tactics worked well against hillary.

Yep..It appears to me that there is going to be some realignment of the Electoral College Vote..The movement is to make the popular vote the one to be awarding an election..So if this is true it makes both coasts and major metro areas the popular democratic winners..Our current president won by 275 electoral votes but lost by millions in the popular vote..If this can be achieved of the changes being proposed then the Democrats will win by being dominant with the popular vote..If I have something out of place I'll stand corrected...

But there is a movement to convince states to award electoral votes proportionally rather than winner take all. That could upset a lot of tactics and outcomes

I didn't mess with it much. It just seems to me that it is never a good idea to do anything that benefits politicians in general.........regardless of party. As partisan as something like this could be, I don't see where it benefits the country. How long would we give the 'new' system before changing it again ? There is value in continuity IMO

The winner takes all method doesn't always reflect the way the voters of a state cast their votes. If a person wins by 50%+1 vote, getting 100% of that state's electoral votes is a poor accounting method.

Popular vote count, in an ideal world would be best, but there would only be a few states that got any attention from the elected servants.
