At 39 years old I went to the eye doctor and was prescribed glasses. My second day wearing them. I really didn't think my eyes were bad to begin with but I have trouble driving at night because it takes too long for me to see anything after meeting a car (no eye wear will help this).
These don't have bifocals. I honestly don't think they make me see better. They seem to make me seem shorter or lower to the ground. It makes walking stairs or in the woods more difficult. The doctor said wear them while awake for 2 weeks and then just wear then when I want to. Is this normal or do you think he just sold me some glasses for the heck of it? My insurance paid for the visit and glasses so that's not a big deal. I do feel rather like an idiot for wearing glasses that make me see worse than I did before.

Glasses suck imo. Depth perception sucks . Get dirty all the time. Cant wear sunglasses . Fog up . Have to remove to look through a scope or binos

They screwed me up when i rode moto even with over the glasses goggles

I switched to contacts 20 yrs ago .........1000x better

I think it will take more than a pair of glasses for you to ever see anything clearly.

Glasses, especially if you haven't worn them before, do take a few days to get used to-- your brain has to retrain how you visualize things.

Yeah. contacts are good but you probably have less than 10 years before you would need bifocals and that's when I gave up on wearing contacts. Lasik would also have been good if you were younger but your days of using readers or bifocals probably aren't too far off. Then again, you're sort of an anomaly type of guy so maybe you'll luck out and won't need readers for a long time.

P.S. Everything that AntiGov is true except I can track and shoot a scoped rifle just fine with glasses, even when doing running shots. But maybe that's just me. In my case, its either wear some sort of corrective lens or be legally blind. I'll take the glasses (tri-foculs at my age).

Ive always feared the possibility that a Cholo running from the cops in his 63 lmpala lowrider would crash into the power pole outside the lasik center, causing a power surge at the exact moment the lazer makes its first cut in my eye, burning a hole through my skull

If you don't see better than you did before then it sounds like they screwed up the prescription. I would ask them to retest and if they aren't eager to help then go somewhere else.

wear them for two weeks like said. if you go without them and still can't tell any difference i'd be going back to find out whats up.

We had an old Dr here that I went to for my D.O.T. physical. For ten bucks he passed anybody. Took a different job and had to see a company DR. Told me to get some glasses or I wasn't driving. he was calling the DMV. So I went to one of those 1 hour places that used to be around. Got some glasses and went back. I was amazed at how much better I could see. I didn't realize my eyes had gotten so bad. I could read road signs at 3 times the distance I could before. I believe its very possible that DR just wanted some insurance money.

Try wearing them upside-down like and singing the "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt" song as loud as you can. It helped me.

Wait...never mind...that's a PA thing...

Eh...wot?
