I have a few Belisle 110's. Does any one cut off the cables and replace with chain ? I haven't even used them yet but I think chain would be more convenient while making sets.

I cut off all the chain on my conibears and replaced with cable. Cable seems more convenient to me, plus they don’t get as tangled when stacked.

On my Belisles I cut off the factory cable and replace it. I run chain through the spring eyes install a swivel and the cable to that with a snap on the end. I do the same with all body grips.

Pros and cons of each. Cable is lighter and cheaper but can be a PITA when pulling and the cable doesn't lay right perfectly in high vis areas.

Chain tangles less, machine not twist loop, lays flat and lasts practically forever. It is heavier and more expensive.

Thanks for the replies. Like I said , I'm running on no actual field experience with the cable thing. I kind of agree with everybody so far and yes, I understand there are pros & cons. I favor chains because that's what I'm used to. Thanks again.

Use what you like. I use 6' cable extensions with a swivel snap on each end, but not on 110's

They are good to go.....once you see what that cable does, you will be impressed with the swivel action. Andrea was light years ahead in the design and features of his traps.

I try to [Linked Image]
get around to cut off chain and cable on bodygrips and install a swivel at the trap.Dont need all that junk hanging off a trap-just gets tangled.
