Dang, the Big Ten just can't stand up to any SEC team, can they? How bout them Gators? Let's see Iowa scored more points against Mississippi state than Alabama did. Does that put Iowa in the championship game? Or does that mean the SEC just sucks? Can't believe you brought up point total and National Champ playoffs coming from the big 10. LOL LOL Heck big ten hasn't scored a point in ANY playoff game in 5 YEARS !!!! LOL LOL LOL ONE FACT you northern boys can't dispute Plus guess MH ST put the score board guy to sleep.........

I can dispute it. On Jan. 1, 2015 Ohio State scored 42 points in beating Alabama. On Jan. 12, 2015 Ohio State scored 42 points in beating Oregon for the 2014 national championship. It hasn't been 5 years. It has been just shy of 4 years.
Yes Michigan State and Ohio State didn't score any points in their one game that each played since . So what. One team wins and one loses. Sometimes the scores are lopsided.
Why did you pull your earlier thread today about the Penn State-Kentucky game? Almost ran your mouth too soon didn't you and then you pulled it off when it looked like Penn State might come back and win. Kentucky played a great game and they have a great linebacker. Congratulations to Kentucky and their fans.

Iowa finished well, Penn State let things go, Ohio State did OK and now GA seems to be finding ways to play like a team that should not have been in the top 4.
Bryce Georgia is all but laying an egg. I really like the Texas cheerleaders uniforms lol.

I am not fans of either team but Texas came to play and Georgia came to pout.
Bryce Not a fan of either team myself. I am really impressed with the Texas QB.

So the reality is that since they've had a CFP one team has dominated and that's Bama that has won it two out of 4 years and maybe this year. The reality (SEC fans won't admit) is that no conference is dominating it but one team. Georgia and UCF have proven there's really no need to go to eight teams. Unfortunately the 4 teams put in is left to the opinions of human beings and sometimes they can be and are wrong in their opinions. Ironically the year OSU won it they probably shouldn't have been in it as they didn't win their conference, yet they steamrolled to win the title. The past two years OSU did win their conference they didn't make it in. Last year Bama didn't win their conference and probably shouldn't have been in it yet won the title. Its still a broken system with no real fix in sight, IMO.

Its still a broken system with no real fix in sight, IMO. And the old BSC system of picking two based on computer tabulation of stats and a coaches poll was flawed how? For one thing, pretty much every SEC fan (ESPECIALLY Alabama fans) would have been throwing a liberal-style-temper-tantrum when UCF got ranked #1 OVERALL by the computers a year or two ago. Then the computers would have been labelled "whack". Heck, the Alabama fans (and Saban himself) are still whining about the fact that the NCAA itself officially recognizes UCF from that year as ending the season at #1 along with Alabama. In that year, the computer ranked the knights #1, and then they went out and beat Auburn, who that year beat both of the other two "champions" the SEC was touting - seems like a more dynamic system is needed than logarithms and coach opinion. What about head to head matchups, like every other sport (even the same sport at different levels) without a selection committee and polls? Trying to respond objectively, as "my" teams this year were all pretty stinky

Below is how the division 1 conferences have fared in their respective bowl appearances. https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/...-fared-years-college-football-bowl-gamesAs was stated above it is not nearly so much a dominant or poor conference as it is very dominant teams. Also as stated Alabama and Clemson have been by far the two dominant teams and those cycles come and go just as they do within conferences. I did not watch but about a quarter of the games but to me Notre Dame and Michigan were very disappointing in their losses. Georgia played one good quarter. When one starts to hear during the broadcasts about the transfers, the other stuff that is just a lot of politics for 18-year old people to adapt to and learn, because it does not let up for those that play on Sunday either. Pretty sure I never said the old system was flawed but you do realize Bama would not have been national champs last year under that old system?

NCAA Divison 3 and what used to be Division 2 (now FCS I believe) have playoff system for football that appears to work very well. They both have 16 team brackets. Earn your way into the bracket and you have a chance to win the championship on the playing field. Whine and cry all you want to but only ONE of those 16 teams ends up on the top of the mountain. Dig into the history of the playoff system and you will see a lot of the same schools consistently show up at the top of the heap. They did not win a popularity contest, they earned the tittle on the field!
A four team playoff is better than a bunch of sportswriters voting but leaves room for lots of whining. Put 16 teams in the playoff and it becomes put up or shut up time!
