Hey guys, Im trapping a farm where the coyotes are giving me trouble. I put a camera on a remake set that a raccoon got into, and the coyotes are missing the pan by inches. Should I leave the set be, or move the trap back a couple inches? It seems that my trap may be too close to the hole, but I think that tampering with the set may do more harm than good. I may also add more bait due to heavy rain. Would it hurt to make a fresh set near it? Thoughts? Thanks!

I would go the fresh set route with the trap backed off a bit like you described. Any coyote that comes by will probably visit both sets.

2 sets in a good area are better than one.

Place some small pieces of debris, like small stones, dirt clumps or twigs, where they are currently stepping to make the dirt over your pan a better place to step.

How far back is it from the bait? I would just slap another set in close by. I usually make two sets at good locations. I usually don’t remake a set until I have caught something.
