I went to ranch today to cut and clear a tree that is along a creek that fell this last spring. A 6 hour job and my arms tell me so. LOL A beautiful day to be in the outdoors. Should be doing more trapping and fishing but that is up next.

I set traps. First chance I've had. Finally just took time off. Plenty of hauling available but I need a break. Rained the day after xmas. Son and me spent a couple days making stretchers. Dry enough today could get into some pastures. Not as cold as I like I think some coons may show up but cold enough. hoping tomorrow I get to try out a few of the stretchers we spent the last two days putting together.

Sounds like a good day snowy.

I HAD TO go buy clothes frown somehow last week 3 pants ripped, 2 hoodies the zipper snapped completely off. The only perk was the views i had. I guess this lady Victoria was selling her secrets for really cheap so the mall was packed. Thankfully the stores I went into weren't packed

Re-made washed-out coyote sets. Sold coon meat for New Year's. Went beaver fishin' with rope and grapple. Caught beaver with 330 necklace and t-bar that came loose. Skinned a coon and fleshed another.

Checked fox CR sets, made a few more fox foothold sets on one farm. If it drys out some I’ll make some more tomorrow. Might even put in a few muskrat and coon sets.

Well, not trapping but my wife and I went on an antique picking road trip and wound up with a mid-1920's American Gas and Machine (AGM) lantern in great shape, antique ski poles, and a bunch of other cool stuff. Grabbed a lunch at Arby's and hurried home to watch the Badgers basketball game only to find it was on a channel we don't get. Still a great day overall.

Run my long line of 9 snares I have out and went to town to get a few things to finish up a set of shelves for the fur room. Tired of the clutter!Threw out a coon to scrape, along with another in the fridge, but I'm thinking it may be tomorrow on him. Still froze up pretty good!

Sounds like some great finds! You wouldn't mind sharing a few pictures of those treasures? I understand if yo don't want to though.

Went in for a routine eye check-up. No big deal? Next thing I know I'm headed to a retinal specialist an hour away to get my eye welded on. Sucky day in my neighborhood.. but I guess it could have been worse.

I dug my snowmobile out of all the snow and started it up. It ran like crap. Looked around and saw I had a hole in the fuel line. Well mother xxxxxx!
So I drove all the way to the Polaris dealer and told them I needed some gas line. I get home to install it and guess what! Mother xxxxxx again! It’s the wrong size line.
I drove allllll the way back to the dealer and got the right stuff. Get home replace the line, clean the carbs, and put in new spark plugs.
Start it up and it’s stil not running great. Now it’s dark outside and I’m in the bush where I parked the dang sled and it’s freezing cold. I take the plugs out and check them for spark, which they’re both good.
I start the sled up and hold the throttle for 10 mins. Rev the crap out of it waiting for the temp gauge to start going up and find out it’s not working! Whatever! I’m not walking back to the house again. Jump on the sled and give’r to the house!
Now I’m watching the Leaf’s game and drinking coffee! Life is alright!

Cold as ice!

My wife recently had surgery and is basically an invalid until she heals up so I did housework today (and yesterday and the day before that). Made breakfast, lunch and dinner and did all the dishes. Had to make the breakfast pancakes from scratch because we ran out of mix and I hate grocery shopping.

I did manage to get some insulation up in my new shop and flip some fox skins fur side out.

I told my wife she's been milking it long enough... grin

Eh...wot?
