There is a citizens petition to be discussed at an upcoming Colorado parks and wildlife commissioners meeting regarding banning commercial or recreational trapping of bobcats

Please contact CPW commissioners and let them know you do not want this ban!

you had to know it was a matter of time. whatever happens in callifornia will happen next in new california. anybody running a guide business for lions with hounds needs to be smooching the behinds of folks in Denver so that when lion hunting is banned he can be one of the chosen few to go after the human killers that will surely follow.

It's truly a shame what has happened to Colorado.

Sounds like Colorado. When I retired 3 years ago, I couldn't get out of that state fast enough.

When I retire I'd like to leave this stinky town, all summer long we choke on rendering plant smell, it is very disgusting

Haha, big surprise! Can't wait to get moved down to Texas. Socialists, fluffers, and crybabies have overrun this state, and turned it into little california. If this ever gets put on the ballot, its all over, just like the foothold ban. In all honesty, there isnt much worth fighting for in Colorado anymore..........

Little support by being a member of the Colorado Trapper and Predator Hunter Assoc. might not be a bad thing. Or maybe asking what you could do to help would be appropriate.

I do understand your frustration but,
I would make them take cage trapping Bobcats and hunting them from you period.

I have been a member for 5 years, and bring my fur to the hugo sale. Volunteered there one year, stayed for the duration, learned alot. Right now I am trapping yotes around Johnson Kansas, and checking my cages here in co on the way back to the house.

I am moving to Fort Davis Texas end of next year, im done with this state, its politics, and its floppy wristed governor. The blue tide has arrived, time for me to surf on out......

It is a changing world. All we can do is to continue to fight when are existing rights are challenged. Hopefully we start seeing states that make these silly moves start reversing the actions when the critters start being a nuisance problem. Looking forward to running a line every winter keeps me motivated all year.

Rather than whining about what a hole Colorado is becoming maybe we should all shoot the Commission members an e-mail telling them our thoughts on banning bobcat trapping. I know it's a long shot but it's better than doing nothing.

CTPHA has a handle on what needs to be done. About all I can say on here without giving out any information. If your interested in helping contact President Dan Gates. He will direct you to where your help could be most utilized.

Has anyone ever done a citizen’s petition on behalf of bobcat trapping/trapping in general? Not stirring the pot, but simply asking.

It's got to be a good day, I woke up.

guys, regardless of how you feel about colorado's politics or whether you live there or are moving from there, your fellow trappers who do live there and do want to continue trapping could really use your help. in the amount of time it takes to post a reply on this thread, you can also send a quick email to the commissioners telling your opinion about the trapping ban.
Please help
and yes colorado is turning more liberal and it really is too bad. But there was a time ( a long time ago) where people in Colorado probably thought it would never be this liberal, just like a lot of you think about your state now. It can happen to you someday too.
If you are a trapper and support trapping please let your voice be heard on this issue.

I'll send them a message, hope you can hold them off as every hearing in Sante Fe on trapping I hear about Colorado. New Mexico turned a darker shade of blue and it is going to be very difficult this year.

Asking whether folks are in favor of trapping. Rural people should have as much voice as those in and around urban areas. Like said, not stirring the pot. If possible please post the verbiage that the petition had. With enough signatures an altimatum on behalf of those of us who trap could also be circulated. May not make a difference, but if a buffer around urban area (say 2 miles from town) was put on the table it might be accepted. A lot of fence sitters may be okay with something along those lines. Just a thought, and hoping that trapping continues to be a part of Colorado’s wildlife management.
