novatrapper01 OP trapper Joined: Jan 2017 Posts: 533 Nova Scotia	The last few raccoons I caught before it got crazy cold are beautiful. First year I ever tried to catch some, it’s almost as addictive as k9 trapping! This one is 33” to base of tail on a 9” board. I’m not sure what section the coons here will grade into so I went with this size.

I wonder if you're wider head because of the board size cost you a couple inches at the bottom, although perhaps not enough to reach 4xl size. This map shows the general NAFA coon regions, yours will probably go Canadian but that's not guaranteed. I live in se SD and have had coon grade in 3 out of the 4 regions on the left side of the legend.
