When are otter prime in Alaska?

Alaska is a big state Nick.

Season always opens here on Nov 10th, but generally if you catch one before around the 1st of Dec they will still be a little blue on the flesh side. I don't ever recall catching one after Dec 1 that was not prime. May be different farther North where the days are shorter.

SE Alaska - Season runs Dec. 1 to Feb. 15. Down here they don't really prime up until the end of the season. It would be better to run the season two weeks later. Even starting two weeks later if need be.

In my neck of SW they usually they seem fairly good at begining of season but are all really nlce by Thanksgivings
