I catch a few grey fox/coyote doubles every year. I always wonder how the event transpired.

I would say the dominant animals likely get nailed first. Then the "moochers" get caught after.
I have seen where the moochers get caught first, and when the dominants show up later, the moochers have some evidence on their hides(if any left).

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

How you ever gonna catch that magnum top lot grinner if your traps are clogged up by fox & coons?

I was thinking the same thing on every fox and coon I rolled up on. Guess I'm going to have to start making 3 sets at a location.

The most unusual double I have caught was a red fox and a gray fox. No discrimination!

I got a picture somewhere of a possum/beaver double. Snared the beaver on a trail up an over an implement road from culvert to culvert, so beaver is up on the little dirt road. Possum is at a dirthole set about 15' from the beaver. Craziest double I ever had.
Always wondered which one got there first too.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
