It was a cumberland farms store. And yes we can't trap in mass. with leg hold or conibear traps.

We can use conibears with special permit for damage control.
We use Hancock style traps all year. Trap beaver full time for living.
No market for them so ADC is only market.
I have to wonder if these shopping beaver were released by someone.

Wildlife relocation is illegal here in the People's Republic, but it's done by people who just find it easier (and more conscious-soothing) to give a live trapped woodchuck, squirrel, etc.. a ride and release it elsewhere. As far as somebody releasing them, it's a possibility, beavers just don't wander into buildings arbitrarily.

Wildlife can not be relocated..by anyone.
As The Beaver guy said. This is done because it's easy for some WCOS who don't care about rules or people who can't deal with killing something. In many cases it's someone who has no legal way to do it or location to dispatch the critter. Some are private people who are not willing to pay for the service.
