Had a prostate biopsy for high psa last tuesday morning. Wed night about 3am it pretty well shut me down felt fine all day wed. Wife got me to our small town hospital they got me stabilized then shipped me off another hospital that had a more advance lab. I think they haveput 9 bags of saline and just as many antibiotic bags. They had the fever down but jumped back up to 102.. my arms feel like a boarded coon luckily no organ damage

Nothing to mess with glad you got on top of it right away.

I wonder what may be the reason for so many cases of this or similar infections this season? We have a small Wednesday AM Bible study class and two of our members over the last couple months have had bouts of similar infections. One spent 4 days in the hospital the other caught his earlier but was down and out for a while as well.

My urologist said ther was about 3 % of this happening. Maybe i should by a lotto ticket
My fatherwhent throgh this when i was in the navy.Mom found him passed out in the house. I think he spent about 2 weeks in the hospital

My dad had sepsis back in 2004 after colon surgery. We almost lost him and he spent 30 days in ICU and a good portion of that on a ventilator. Definitely not something to take lightly.

Many antibiotics are going to be useless in the future better hope they find something to replace them!

Following a knee replacement infection, i was on IV vancomycin for 10 weeks and antibiotics for 23 months. Still a bum knee.

Aint modern medicine wonderful ! It dose do some marvelous things, but the medical system, field or what ever ya want to call it, is the third leading cause of death in this country ! So watch your selves.

Need to watch some of the anti- bacterial meds they will kill the good bacteria in your stomach and things will get dicey after that, what does not seem important one minute can quickly become a emergency a short time later~

Ive been battling MRSA for over a month now. The vancomycin quit working and they changed me to daptomycin. My numbers are starting to look better but I still ain’t outta the woods yet...

Now I have to worry as I have the same procedure scheduled for dec 3.

Ask for a pain killer. Had it done twice, was no pinic. Good luck.

Finally getting released today will still have to take iv antibiotics for a couple of weeks Got a picc iv line in my right bicep. Other than that feeling a lot better

My doc numbed /blocked the 2 nerves going to the prostrate I felt a pinch during each biopsy I think he took 8 or 10. The snap of the gun made me jump more than anything

Been taking care of a friend of mine since Sept.2nd He had a UTI that went sepsis. Wow what a devastating deal he almost died several times and we are just now starting therapy.
He had lost the use of his legs and it affected his lymph glands and the fluid started building in his body. I had never heard of sepsis until he got it but now I have a great fear of it .
The Dr. told use a lot of older people do not even know they have a UTI until it goes sepsis then it is very life threatening only 16% recover from it.
So glad you caught this in time and I wish you a fast recovery.
