very sad a bunch of them got rained on in storage , I was able to talk to a guy who had a chance to see them before they were moved to storage and there were a lot of them in very good shape.
even if they can only make 50K of the 80K into usable rifles it is still good to see them come home and into the hands of Americans rather than the bottom if the ocean like they were talking about if we didn't bring them back.
this video didn't go into the other politics of things , we sent the Philippines M16A2 rifles as we updated to the M4 carbines across all the branches , they had apparently expected that they would just send the M1's back in the same shipping containers as they got the new-used M16 in but at the time the administration didn't want them back they held on to them until the administration change then they could come home.
as I understand this is when much of the damage occurred a real shame that so much money had to be wasted on termites , damage , water , asbestos. when they could have just come back on a return trip of the same ship in the same containers for much less.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
it was our Obama administration that blocked the return, the Philippines had a General who was a big fan of the M1 and the cost to warehouse them a few years was less than a ship to dump them in the ocean or cut them up so they warehoused them.

I went to Alabama in March and bought one. They ranged from $560 up to several thousand dollars. They let us in the warehouse while we were having a rifle worked on. It was amazing how many unopened crates of rifles were in there.
I went on their website to see what they were asking. either they haven't made it for sale yet or they are all gone except for the ones in bad shape.
I have been paying attention to them an i dont think any of them are ready for sale yet. The cmp has them but its gonna take a few more months before they start putting them up for sale. Still no update on all those 1911s either.

I do not think any Philippine rifles have been made available for purchase yet they tend to get their online stores in order and open up sales in January on new M1 rifles. what they have on that date in January is it for the years sales.
