For those interested,

An email from NM Game and fish was sent out

I'm not sure if I can go as the kids have practice until 1930.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, NOV. 16, 2018:

Director to hear public comments on trapping rule

ALBUQUERQUE – The Director of the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish will hold a listening session to hear public comments on proposed changes to the furbearer rule. Proposed changes include mandatory trapper education, increasing set-back requirements, allowance for closure of areas to trapping, signage and further clarifying the definition of a trail.

The listening session will be conducted 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at the department’s Northwest Regional Office, 7816 Alamo Road NW in Albuquerque.

Comments can be provided by mail: New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, Attn: Furbearer Rule Development, P.O. Box 25112, Santa Fe, NM 87504; by email, ispa@state.nm.us, or in person at the meeting.

I guarantee the anti's will find time to go. I would do whatever I had to, too make that meeting. Sounds like the trappers could really get screwed over if not well represented. Hope it turns out good for you guys.

I'm going to try my best to attend even if I'm late.

whenever blm national forest or an animal regulatory group ask for public comments, its just to make people feel good. they have already decided on the new rules.

Just like when management says they'll be looking to hire more managers and supervisors but already have offered the jobs to others before the announcement

I have it on good authority that the game department has received hundreds of emails from the antis. We need to bombard them with our own emails, letters and phone calls. Better yet, show up! We are going to have a huge fight when legislation time gets here

The agenda reads like a plan to restrict trapping freedoms coated in a meeting to make it look legit, every proposal is headed to a restriction with little to benefit wildlife, just the antis handbook tactics is all it looks like!

with the new governor elect of nm it aint looking good. I suspect it is going to go the way of az and co. cities are filling up and expanding with anti consumptive wildlife use, anti civilian gun ownership, socialists.

From Utah I salute you that make it.

You may think before you act. The question is did you listen to your own council?

I agree Danny and Jerry. Not just the newly elected governor but most of the other newly elected officials are antis. Last round house session they wanted to know if other states have banned footholds but our warden did a good job rebutting.
Awesome 16penny
