Hope it goes well for you Hal. Ask if they'll throw in a little plastic surgery on your mug while they're doing it, for the benefit of everyone else's eyes.

Putting drop in eye was the hardest part for me, had both eyes done. Had it done 15 or so years ago. Do not like driving at night. To much glare or light burst from other light. Need extra light for reading etc. But I am 76 years old.

Weii, it's done. Still a little blurry. For those of you that wished me well, thanks!

Recall one of the first patients I knew that had the procedure.
He said it was like night vs day... and like his sight was 40 yrs prior to the surgery. then (1973 or 1974)he stayed in the hosp about 2-3 nights after..

Good deal. My vision took about a week to start working correctly. It's better than it's ever been now. Hope yours turns out that way too.

Well, it's been about 24 hours. My vision in my left eye, uncorrected, is now better than in my right eye, corrected. In order to get around temporarily, I took the left lens out of my glasses.
My cataracts weren't as bad as some. The problem was, I'm severely nearsighted. As the cataract formed it changed the focus of my eye, and made things even worse. The left lens in my glasses was about as thick as that traditional coke bottle. Also, since the cataract progressed more rapidly in my left eye, my eyes had two different focal points, and I was getting double vision.
Anyway, I marched into that surgery center about 12:30 Waited about a half hour in the waiting room . And all done and out the door by 2:30, looking out of my new eye. And I was awake the whole time. But they did give me some kind of dope to make me groggy. They cut into your eye, pull out the old lens and put in a new one. I thought that would be spooky but it wasn't. Amazing!
With Miz getting a new knee this spring (on an outpatient basis!) we have both leveraged the miracle of modern medicine.
