I have some Hagz brackets, and some 3/8" fiberglass rods. Can someone tell me what coilspring traps fit the slots ? Because the four different makes I have do not fit ?

This is from hagz's site

Quote:

A: We advertise that The HAGz Bracket will fit most 1.5 and smaller. While the HAGz Bracket was designed for #1.5's and smaller, they will in fact fit some larger size traps as well, as long as they have a frame thickness thinner than .129 otherwise some slight filing may be required. Trap frame ends start varying widely on traps larger than a 1.5, thus we stake our advertising claim to where the greatest standard is.

The bracket with the "HAGz" and "Patented" stamp fits the following brand 1.5's and smaller: Duke, Bridger, Victor, *KO, Wolf Creek, *Sleepy Creek, Newhouse and Blake & Lamb

*Tight Tolerance - very slight filing may be required if trap and/ or bracket is on an outer edge of their allowable tolerance

Reddawg, talk to me sir. What traps didn't fit? There are a few that I am aware of in our first release (HAGz Bracket without HAGz stamped on it) and those were Sleepy Creek #1's and 1.5's, KO 1.5's and Montana's... There could have been more, but of current production and the popular vintage traps those were the ones that were a little 'thick'--- HOWEVER, there were 2 that could be an issue, but it was hit or miss! Victors: There were some Victors that didn't fit as well due to 'some' of them often had a little deformation or 'nub' on the end of their trap frame that would prevent it from fitting... Whollop that with a hammer or hit it with a file and they were fine. Newer Victors I haven't seen that as a prevalent manufacturing trait. ... Bridgers; We originally drew the max tolerance to fit Bridgers for the large slot. Unfortunately, during MFG the very corners were slightly pulled into the 'bend' (picture a bur in the upper corners), this would cause Bridgers to stick slightly the first few times it was inserted and that 'bur' was wore off.
... So in short, SC's, KO's and Montanas didn't fit the first rendition and SOME Victors and Bridgers needed a tweak or a few times of use before than ran smooth.

Since the first run, we opened the large slot a few thousandths of an inch so the Bridgers wouldn't stick. Doing this also allowed some of those that were tight to now fit. If the frame thickness is an 1/8" (.125") or less, it will fit with not problem.

Disclaimer : The bracket is mfg'd with very tight tolerances, defects in the trap, excessive wax/dip, etc can be problematic but all can be fixed with a metal file if need be.

At the end of the day, if you run Bridgers, Victors, Dukes, B&Ls, Wolf Creeks, New House, and possible others in 1.5's and smaller, they should fit - Especially in the Brackets with "HAGz" stamped on them as like I said we opened the large slot on those a hair (literally).

Reddawg, please hit me up if you need anything or have continued fit issues. We want you happy and successful using our products.
