My wife had an atrial ablation 2 months ago and it has ended the abnormal heart rhythms.
It was worrysome but he'd done hundreds and only 8% needed a 2nd try.
I bout lost her to congestive heart failure back in Jan.
We/she is glad she had the ablation.

Who'd a thunk, Dr can go up into heart
put sensors to measure synapse
then move them to narrow area of malfunction
until very small area left, then laser it, killing the part of the heart causing the problem

Amazing

I had one a year ago. It worked. Not a major deal. Don't sweat it.

I had an ablation for atrial fibrillation in 2014. One of the best decision I ever made health wise. Have not had and irregular heartbeat since and got me off of all that high powered medicine that was just a band-aid anyway.

But I will agree that it was concerning going in but I am glad I had it done.

I checked in to the hospital at 6:00 am to have the procedure. By 11:00 am the next day, I was home having lunch. The only discomfort I had was related to my poor tolerance to anesthesia meds.

My mom just had cryogenic ablation about a month ago. All seems to be going well and working like it should.

Had one roughly 3.5 years ago to fix my WPW. Went into OR at 7am and was eating a sandwich by 1pm and feeling fine. No pain and only a small bruise at one of the two incisions.
Prayers and best wishes for your wife.

Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome (WPW) - it is a heart rhythm problem.
