On Life Below Zero, caribou tongue is supposed to be delicious. How about deer tongue? Can't be that much different. Anybody like deer tongue?
I ate deer liver once, and it ruined me on beef liver even. Eww

Not sure about deer but caribou tongue is the best part of a caribou for me. Just cut in bite size pieces and boiled for 45 minutes or so.

beef tongue is ok. calf liver is good so is pork liver. deer liver elk liver is inedible. animals taste different. just cause you like a cut from one animal species doesn't mean you will like it from another,

give deer tongue a try. might be good. I think not though. you never hear anybody talk about eating it.

Tongue is better than backstraps. Boil in seasoned water, peal, cut into cubes, saute with just a little garlic and grease.

I always save my deer and elk tongues. You have to boil it for a long time and peel it. It is not my favorite but alright. I have eaten it sliced with mustard and or horseradish but my favorite is to fine grind it and make into a pate, add some onion, sweet pickles and mayo. Add a little of the pickle juice to get the right consistency. good on crackers or as a sandwich spread.
I usually cook the neck bone along with the tongue and all that neck meat that is hard to cut off goes the same route.

Yes venison tongue is good, I have had tongue of everything listed above except horse and they are similar in flavor. I have even had cod tongues while in Newfoundland for moose hunt. Cod tongues where battered and deep fried, tasty.

I myself like liver, the secret to liver is not to overcook it. Don't cook it beyond medium, should still be pink inside.
Best liver I ever had was black bear liver, very tender and delicious.
If you over cook liver you get that metallic taste, not good, and always cook with lots of onions!
