Was at the marsh early and got 150 traps out. And already caught 22 rats while paddling back out! Having some much needed food at the moment then back to another pond for some more punishment. Hope all you guys are having a great start too! Best wishes to all!

Today's check was not nearly what I had hoped for. I don't know why exactly but my trap to catch ratio was waaaaay low! Especially in one big pond. I ended up with just over 70 rats and 2 nice coon today. Pulled some traps and moved to a new area to see if that helps. Some of the sets got buried in lake weeds that blew in overnight when the wind picked up so that didn't help. But I wonder if the temps or moon phase had more to do with the low rat activity. Hope tomorrow goes a little better. Only a couple more days of hitting the rats hard then it will be on to more mink and coon sets. Then beaver when that opens and the k9's in December and January!
