Here's a catch from Wednesday that I don't make everyday. He looked disgusted with himself.

You know all his buddies came by and teased him to death!
How humiliating!

Hey Badgerman50, is that a NO-BS junior trap? If it is, how do you like them? Been thinking about trying them. Great catch and thank you.

Yes it are. This is my first season using them. A little early to make a definitive statement yet. They bed well and are built like no other when it comes to sturdiness. I read on the box that you’re guaranteed double back foot catches so I guess so far so good.

I don't think you'll be disapionted. Better hurry if they are for this season, I think Kendall is 3-4 weeks out

Thank you for your feedback on the trap Badgerman50. I will have to give them a try.

When you said double back foot. I knew it was going be ko extreme trap. My first thought is pan tension to heavy. That coyote didn't place both back feet on the pan at the same time. Thoughts?

Unwaxed they tested at 5+ pounds but after waxing the ones I did test (I’ll admit I don’t test every trap) tested at just under 4. I’ll test some more. We’ll see.

Tbn, that was a young male. I don't think you other guys are right about the pan tension. As a matter of fact, I know you aren't. Here's my results from today's check. Three smallish coyotes. Three front foot catches. I tested more Jr's and nothing was even at 5 lbs waxed. Sometimes nutty things like a double back foot happen with nothing else being wrong.

I agree badgerman50 some things have no explanation other than it did happen. There are way too many variables in nature. Great catches I hope those Jr's are working well for you.

x2. Bedding a trap can and will add pan tension. Procedure and condition will determine how much added poundage we are talking about. If polled my guess is the guys that run minimal pan tension rarely two foot a coyote. Just my thoughts

I’m not arguing that they don’t have higher pan tension than most traps. It changes considerably once waxed. My trusty Sullivan tester has them all between 3.5 and 4.5 lbs. what’s wrong with that? Doesn’t seem to be hindering me. Yet. I need higher pan tension around here to keep jackrabbits out of my traps. If I never get another toe catch that’ll suit me just fine. I do appreciate the heads up though.
