Every western folk I know count eye guards on antlers. So do the major sellers of deer antler sets and sides.

Look at websites selling antlers - www.hideandfur.com - eye guard is counted every single time!!

Congrats Wild I thought you were so busy chasing the young lady you had forgot about us. Your buck is about the same size as the one I shot, I would call him a 4x5 my dad would have called him a 3x4 with eye guards, to each his own. Elk season is now over until muzzle loading so we can now concentrate on trapping. Good luck.

Obviously you aren't my dad, to him and so to me those are eye guards.

Haha... still chasing her around, but yeah between that, work, and taking two separate week-long out of state trips to Montana and North Dakota for bird hunting, I've been busy. I'm gonna try to be on here more in the evenings, especially with trapping season getting into swing.

So next whitetail you shoot, you can say you've harvested 1.5 whitetails.

Haha! I like to call them by their names... you know: Fluffy and Bambi and Flat Iron and whatnot!

Congrats! Plenty of wild game in the freezer is such a good feeling.

Yeah, yard rats! My girls and I start naming ours about August: "breakfast", "Italian", "polish", "summer", etc. This was 2 in the afternoon out for their daily feeding.

Sorry for the hijack Wildaho - nice job on getting the freezer filled up!
