While looking for permission at some new spots this year, I’ve had a few people treat me like I’m some kind of Johnny Sneakum right off the bat because trappers are just a bunch of petty crooks.

Anyone else experience this?

Just makes telling you no easier it's hard if your not known or recommended to some folks you just a stranger with little to offer is all.

Thanks guys. Been about 50/50, some people are really friendly, others act like I say above. Makes me wonder if they've dealt with some bad apples before.

Joepennanti, I've been starting off asking for beaver trapping permission and then going from there, but maybe I'd be better off asking for coyotes as you say.

tell them how you are going to help ,by getting all the egg eater out the skunks possum coon and they will see more song birds
