A recent thread about water glass reminded me about shotshell reloading.

When I was a kid my father taught me how to reload shotgun shells using old homemade tools. Water glass was used to seal the overshot card. here is a photo of the old tools

some of them but some where made by a old neighbor of his when he was a kid in the 1940s. I have some other photos to post, one is a homemade reloading press my dad made and there is a big 30 round or so walnut reloading block for 16 gauge with a hinged bottom. Also some slug and bullet molds. Backwoods type

I load some black powder shot shells for a 12 ga. I have. The sound they make is louder than a regular shell with smokeless powder. The smell is great. Do you do any loading with those?

Just passin through

I like the old tools. What is the pipe used for?
Guessing it's for making cards.

Mole. That set looks really nice. Guessing you did the matching paint job? I have a 12 gauge role crimper from the family farm. It's still working today! Always looking for a similar piece in the other gauges.

Was kind of excited when a link from another site led to this excerpt.
