Yea I sent a e mail to MDC and I just got a response this morning stating that the law was referring to colony trap, I didn't want to buy a whole lot of traps that I couldn't use. Probably going to look at some other options now I don't want to get to big Of traps probably going to stick around a #3 . The job I have in a meat department keeps my hand soft and them heavy springs eat my hands up.

2s or 3s are about perfect for predators im a 2 guy myself. Single spring 2s will hold anything mo has to offer. And yes I own a few dozen monty 2s! I just wish they was made heavy as the old ones were! Eventually I will run all old monty #2s exclusively! Completely tricked out of course

What all you do to yours I plan to base plate mine ,add 18 inch chain an maybe double jaw.Personally I don't like 4 four coils more power than I need and it seems no matter how safe you are you always seam to catch your self .

base plate laminate, bubble tip jaws and a shock spring and nite latch then weld all the j's shut. I feel comfortable no predator mo has to offer can destroy them after all that! I like knowing the ground holding it is the weakest link! Only time 4 coiling shines is freeze thaw conditions. Majority of the traps today are sufficient as 2 coils!

Motrapping you may want to invest in some trap setting tools! You can hold a open trap with one hand while you set it. Thanks trapperjdp I'll try notching a few and see how it works! Been awhile since I've been on here, glad I didn't start an argument on which trap to buy.
