Looking to have a new shop built to house a small Archery and trapping supply business. Looking at 30x36 built with 10' ceiling. Will have one 7' overhead door and one man door with no windows. Not sure if I'm going to have a stick built on a monolithic slab with metal roof and cement board siding or a pole barn with metal roof and siding. Either will be spray foam insulated electric/water and propane heat.

Convince me which way to go as I am undecided.

Have you priced any of your options? Does one hold better resale value, or less maintenance long term?

Can you do any of the build yourself?

How much would having a slab poured that size cost ??

I have priced the mono slab vs slab for a pole barn and the spray foam insulation per sq foot. I can have a pole barn shell built for under $11,000 but have not priced out stick built. Not concerned about resale value as we are just finishing up a new house build on the property and it is our retirement move after being in our current house 31 years.

Yes I can build it myself and do plan on doing the mechanicals and finishing the interior. Not really interested in building the shell as frankly I am built out as my wife and I are about a month away from getting our occupancy permit on our cabin we biuilt ourself. Been at it on weekends for almost 3 years and I am tired. Didn't want to borrow so used savings and save a little build a little and only buy big materials when Menards has 11% off sales.

A 12 foot wide or wider header built into the back wall in case some day you add on for a couple of 20 hard shooting lanes?
