Then there was the staff assault last week where I ended up in the hospital.

Now today another of our brothers got killed at work.

Saw a few custody staff beat up in my five years in prison...I do miss that place some days.. I guess it's the adrenaline junky in me. Never did understand why a prisoner was allowed to have a padlock inside prison they broke more than a few facial bones swinging those things in socks while I was there. In the five years I was there four inmates were killed in two prison riots, but only injuries to custody.

I have a friend who is a CO. He has been "locked out" for over a year. A inmate attacked a CO and he put the inmate down, all caught on camera. Seems the inmates have more rights then the working people.

Sadly, the people have less and less respect and fear for law enforcement on the outside and it is just going to follow to the inside.
Coddling those types on the outside doesn't work, why do all the brainiacs think it will work once they are incarcerated?

Has anyone on here watched Locked Up Abroad? It takes a look at prison life in various countries. Most make US prisons look like a 5 star hotel. While others focus on rehabilitation to make the person a better member of society.

Also, at trial it is the STATE vs so and so... NOT the VICTIM vs so and so!
People have lost sight of how much suffering some thugs can cause a family and loved ones left to deal with a tragedy - especially the victim.
I've never understood "cruel and unusual punishment".

Any updates? The article says he responded to an assault on another staff member, returned to his post, and then had a medical emergency that caused his death. The family of the other officer that was killed said they want those responsible prosecuted aggressively. Something doesn’t make sense to me.
