So does anyone build their own chain for their chainsaw? I talking cutting to length and connecting link for the size of bar you have.
I have a 14 inch bar I want to use on my saw but would like to find the connecting links. It is hard to find them unless you buy 100 of them. Stores that sell saws just don't care any supplies to build your own chain.

You can try a lawnmower repair shop.

Not sure about your prices but for us it was not worth it. Even with buying in bulk plus the cost of the equipment we may have save a buck a chain ( 24" ). We cut about 12 cord a year. It is just not worth it for us. To be honest I think we may have broken even after 30 years as long as we did not figure in our time.
To be honest we do get our chains at a little discount.

You need a chain breaker and rivet spinner and some connecting links About a $100 investment. Ebay you can buy ten links.

How many you looking for and what size chain are you running? .050 or smaller. I have access to the tools so buy bulk and build up a few at a time. I normally cut between 12- 16 cords a year and do some removal jobs when they come around. If you are running the same size I will send some your way. Jon.

any saw shop should have bulk chain and be able to make you what your looking for.
and they have the tool if you don't

I did find a guy that had a few and will be in business. Thanks again.
