SkunkSkinnerID OP trapper Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 11 Idaho	Has anyone ever had their extracted skunk essence smell like alcohol? I took some out of a skunk I caught the other day and it had a sharp alcohol smell to it. I catch a lot of skunks for a coyote trapper.

Was it mixed with anything or left open to the elements? Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

If they sit like a road killed one in the heat they will draw water from the body over time but never any alcohol smell, might of been eating fermented fruits and it's not the pods your smelling but close to it maybe!
