When I made my cages I used a brake from Harbor Fright that Reid Aiton loaned me.

I built one out of angle iron. Then put it on a table bolted down. Using clamps to hold the wire. I'll try to get pictures later.

You need a quality one if you go 12.5 gauge wire that stuff is tough my Hoot buddy has a buffalo one he uses on that heavy stuff it does a great job.
