Will this brake work for bending cage wire or does anyone know of a cheap one that will?

You can build your own way cheaper. Just google it. It's pretty easily built.

1-8 foot 2X4 2-7 foot 2X4s and a couple of carriage bolts and nuts and you have a brake!

It will work. $54.00 is pretty cheap. Have you looked at Harbor Freight?

When I made my cages I used a brake from Harbor Fright that Reid Aiton loaned me.

I bend a lot of 14 gage gaw wire to make small cages. It is 1/2 x 1. I don't think that brake would work. It is not heavy enough. If using 14 gage 1 x 2 wire, yes maybe.

I built one out of angle iron. Then put it on a table bolted down. Using clamps to hold the wire.

I'll try to get pictures later.

You need a quality one if you go 12.5 gauge wire that stuff is tough my Hoot buddy has a buffalo one he uses on that heavy stuff it does a great job.
