On Sunday one of our really close family friends went missing on canyon lake here in Texas. His name is Dax Wooten and tpwd found his body today. He was only 24 years old, went fishing by himself and some how fell off the boat and couldn’t get back on I guess. They found the boat Sunday afternoon with the cowling off so he must have been working on the motor and something happened and he ended up in the water. Him and his brother used to come down and stay a few weeks out of the summer at our house every summer when we were younger to stay with me a go fishin everyday, fun times we had as kids and he looked up to me quite a bit. Keep his family in your prayers, and wear your life jackets. You never know

Sorry to hear that. I lost a best friend in Texas to the same type of accident in 2007. I always have extra life jackets on hand now.

Thank you everyone, my mom said she talked to his mom last night for awhile and the one thing that she said was how much respect she had for the Texas parks and wildlife department. They worked non stop searching for him for close 48 hrs. The tpwd brought a preist to sit with the family the entire time while divers were searching. Sheriff ordered an autopsy to determine cause of death and if anything else was involved but sounds like just an accident on the boat, slipped while trying to work on the engine and hit his head and went into the water knocked out. Crazy, he drowned in water where he could stand up in
