Both these have #14 pans. Am I correct in thinking the top one is actually a #13?

You're absolutely right. Thanks! Just went off the "V" cut out of the pan.
So, am I right in thinking the top pic is a #13 Oneida Jump with a #14 pan on it?

It looks that way from here. There is a size difference between the two you should be able tomesdure the jaw spreads.

Both measured 6 3/4" across on the base where it holds the jaw. Didn't measure all the way out to where the chain attaches. Levers and jaws different, that I can see.

At 6 3/4" they are both #14, the #13 is 5 7/8". The difference is that the one with the narrow spring tab is an Oneida Community trap and the other one with the wide spring tab was made by Animal Trap Company and has a lower jaw profile.

This is 100% correct. However, those jump traps were made by the same company that made Victor traps and they do have the 'V' cut out of the pan. I'm willing to bet that at least 50% of trappers, if not more, call them Victor jumps.

Just saying............

When we were able to use them I had quite a pile of 14's,and I remember a couple of them looking exactly like the first picture, had 14 pans on them too.I thought they were just different jaw designs they went thru.
