Ha! Yeah I went through one shirt by 7:00 am yesterday. Been tossing around moving there but the heat is the one thing I don't care for. Several of my in-laws love it down there.

Larry, go south of Fort Worth, and you will find the hill country. This was my play ground Larry, and the gulf coast added into the mix was just a nice extra. You would never think twice about Illinois Larry if you spent any length of time there. You have the hill country, the gulf coast, the piney woods of east Texas, the desert southwest section of Texas, and of course the valley. What more does a person need ?? God blessed Texas !!

Isn't that area over run with people?

west tx is nice. no humidity no people and very little political nonsense. want to build a new porch or a shed? no problem. buy your materials and have at it. if you buy a piece of ground get a plan for water. it can be a long ways to haul it if you cant get a well in

The cities are big but the country looks like most other ranches and farms. Been looking at the piney woods area. Most of the people seem more positive in general than my Illinois neighbors do. I don’t like the heat but I hear you Mike. There is a lot to do without all of the stupid rules. I like Illinois but the politics of squeezing the people who make money and giving it to the people who don’t even try wear’s on you after fifty years of it...

I’ve been thinking West Texas for our next vacation, always looking to find that retirement spot ! went to Amarillo last fall. Took a different way home and followed the Canadian River. That's my kind of country. Not so much for my wife.

If you want more info on the good & bad points of living in Texas, send me a p m & I will give you my phone # & we can visit. Have lived in NE Tex timber country all my 70 yrs. & trapped here & other parts of the state for 35+ yrs. 1st thing I will tell you is that we have the most liberal trapping regs in the nation. 2nd thing is that according to folks on T-man, it gets as hot in Kansas, Nebraska, and the Dakotas in summer as it does here. We can go from there if you are interested. How far from Plano to find good trapping, hunting and fishing?
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....
