WOW, what a great convention! I didn't think they could top the convention they had here in 1014, but I believe they did it. These are some hard working folks with pride in their work. This huge convention was set up and run extremely well. This doesn't happen by accident. These folks put their hearts and souls into it, and it truly showed. It was a combine effort of the Upper Peninsula trappers and the below the bridge MI trappers. A big thanks to all of you who sacrificed your time to make this convention the best one ever!
It seemed unlikely that a site so far north would draw much of a crowd. Dang, that was proved false. The traffic all three days was heavy and steady. Even today on Saturday, then at a normal convention the traffic would die after lunch, this one kept a steady stream until around 3 pm.
By the way, I did win a Savage M11 223 Trophy Hunter XP, and a pair of fur ear muffs. I reckon the ear muffs will come in handy when I shoot that 223 - lol. Thanks also to the FBU, Ms. Cindy, Ms. Carolla and all their help. They work their butts off and need a huge "Well Done".

Glad you got some hearing protection when you shoot that 'cannon'.
I think EVERYONE should host a convention at least once, be ALOT less gripping at them from then on!
Whole lotta thankless work to put on events.
Just so ya know, it's still in the 90's and humid down here, shouldn't take you but a few hours to thaw out from your trip to the North Pole, lol.

I can’t express enough the respect I have for Roy Dahlgren and his Michigan crew. Volunteers from all 3 Michigan associations pitched In to make it a success, as well as volunteers from other states. The NTA and FBU staff did a great job. Thanks to all the vendors that supported and patrons who attended. Trappers are some of the greatest people on earth. This was an event that we can all be truly proud of.

Wife and I had a great time. Spent way to much money but enjoyed every minute of it. We spent all day Thurs and Fri at the fairgrounds. We intended on leaving early Sat but didn’t want to leave. Went back until noon. Great job Up Trappers NTA and supporting crews!
Beware the pickle jar on the wood pile!

Was once again another awesome convention ... We had a great time but didn't get a chance to visit and roam too much, we did slip away for about 45m on Saturday and everywhere seamed to have about the same amount of traffic... Was great to see so many trappers and some awesome weather!

Awesome time! I tried to find you Mr. Dahlgren, but never did. Lots of ground to cover! I got to meet a lot of great people and spend a lot of money. I finally got to meet Mr. Dobbins and try some of the famous "Skeeter Pee". Good stuff! Restocked on some Backbreaker while I was at his booth, too. My best purchase of the convention has to be the piece of art that I bought from Mr. Lee Steinmeyer. I can't wait to put that beautiful fleshing knife to work! Thank you to all the people who put on such a great event and all the vendors! Looking forward to next year already!
When life gets me down..... you know hunting/trapping season is closed.

I've done countless shows all over the country (I dare say more than any single vendor in the biz toady) in the last 34 years and hands down, no one, not anywhere, at any time during my tenure in trapping has anyone put their personal life on "hold", dug in and got the kind of job done that I saw this weekend like Roy Dahlgren did. None. Can't remember even a close second.
Thank you Roy Dahlgren. You are the epitome of "git er' done". You surround yourself with super people and as any great leader does... you lead. Kim is right there with you too! Professional, friendly, prompt, efficient, knowledgeable leadership from all your efforts and it was noted by this vendor and his wife. BIG TIME! The demo area was insanely planned and executed and by that I mean it was INCREDIBLE! The media promotion was unlike anything I've ever seen. News camera and radio hosts were tripping over each other to get to broadcast notables. When was the last time anyone ever saw that? Channel 3, 6, 10 and on and on it went. All GREAT for trappers and the PR of trapping. It was on the air non-stop wherever you tuned your am/fm dials!
NTA Trapper of the Year -East to boot. Congrats sir. Your efforts were very much appreciated.
